B&B is honored to partner with and showcase the Oregon Zoo Foundation in our 2026 community desk calendar! The Oregon Zoo Foundation helps the Oregon Zoo care for animals like the Amur Tiger, inspire conservation action, and educate the public, funding programs in wildlife research, species recovery, and environmental education both locally and around the world.
Each month, the calendar showcases a beautiful photograph of a zoo animal and highlights inspiring stories of conservation successes and how individuals and corporations can make a difference. Ways to contribute include joining the Sustaining Herd, becoming a Giving Circle member, or supporting other initiatives that help animals thrive at the zoo.
We hope this calendar raises your awareness about the Oregon Zoo

Amur Tiger | B&B Calendar July Featured Animal
The Amur tiger, formerly known as the Siberian tiger, survives only in the mountain forests of eastern Russia, with a small number in China. Built for harsh winters, they are the largest cats in the world—males can reach 10 feet in length and weigh up to 450 pounds. Their pale, thick fur, insulated paws, and unique striped patterns help them stay warm, move silently, and blend into snowy terrain.
Amur tigers live solitary lives, marking territory and hunting elk, boar, and deer using sharp eyesight and hearing. Because prey is scarce, they roam vast areas—female territories span 95 to 170 square miles, while males may cover up to 770. Females give birth to one to five cubs after a short gestation, and cubs begin learning to hunt at around three months old. Amur tigers live 10 to 14 years in the wild and up to 20 in human care.
With only about 400 left in the wild, Amur tigers are endangered due to habitat loss, poaching, and conflict with humans. Conservation breeding programs, including the Species Survival Plan, play a critical role in safeguarding their future.
You can help protect wildlife year-round by joining the Sustaining Herd, a community of recurring donors whose ongoing support helps animals thrive at the zoo and beyond.
