Since 1992, WSC a Portland, Oregon based nonprofit, has been dedicated to protecting wild Pacific salmon ecosystems, focusing on safeguarding key rivers and salmonid species across the North Pacific Rim. The calendar serves as a visual reminder of the value of water and wildlife, as well as the environmental challenges they face.

Susitna River, Alaska | B&B Calendar March Featured River
Spanning a region the size of West Virginia, the Susitna River is one of the largest undammed river systems in North America. From its glacial origins near Denali and the Alaska Range, the Susitna flows over 300 miles to Cook Inlet. The roadless West Susitna wilderness is a vast wonderland of game refuges, backcountry hunting areas, fly-fishing streams, and the Iditarod Trail.
That’s why, for the past two years, our Defend the West Su coalition has been working to stop a 100-mile, publicly financed industrial access road from piercing the heart of this pristine region—cutting across more than 80salmon-bearing streams in the process.
