B&B is honored to partner with and showcase the Oregon Zoo Foundation in our 2026 community desk calendar! The Oregon Zoo Foundation helps the Oregon Zoo care for animals like the Cougar, inspire conservation action, and educate the public, funding programs in wildlife research, species recovery, and environmental education both locally and around the world.
Each month, the calendar showcases a beautiful photograph of a zoo animal and highlights inspiring stories of conservation successes and how individuals and corporations can make a difference. Ways to contribute include joining the Sustaining Herd, becoming a Giving Circle member, or supporting other initiatives that help animals thrive at the zoo.
We hope this calendar raises your awareness about the Oregon Zoo

Cougar | B&B Calendar March Featured Animal
Cougars roam across southwest Canada, the western United States, and South America, thriving in an impressive range of habitats—from forests and mountains to prairies, deserts, and swamps. Built for power and agility, they can sprint up to 50 miles per hour, leap 18 feet vertically, and bound forward up to 40 feet in a single jump.
Adult males grow seven to eight feet long and weigh 140 to 175 pounds, while females reach six to seven feet and rarely exceed 110 pounds. Mostly active at dawn and dusk, cougars hunt by silently ambushing prey using their exceptional eyesight and hearing. Their diet includes deer and elk, as well as smaller animals like raccoons, beavers, rabbits, and rodents. Females give birth to litters of one to six kittens, which stay with their mothers for at least a year before becoming independent.
You can help support wildlife like the cougar and the community through corporate giving. By aligning your organization’s goals with the Oregon Zoo Foundation’s mission, you become a vital partner in protecting species locally and globally. Join the Business Giving Circle, sponsor a signature event, or make a grant to support education, conservation, and animal well-being at the Oregon Zoo.
