The 2023 B&B Print Source / Artslandia calendar features Portland area arts and culture organizations, and every page showcases a unique specialty printing process. Each month’s installment illustrates the capabilities in print, using both digital and offset printing. September means back to school, and also back to the stage! PORTLAND OPERA | B&B CALENDAR SEPTEMBER FEATURED ORGANIZATION
Portland Opera has been bringing opera to life since the company’s founding in 1964. The first production was Johann Strauss II’s Die Fledermaus, which opened on Nov. 7, 1964, at the Leodis V. McDaniel (then Madison) High School in East Portland. Today, Portland Opera performs at the Keller Auditorium, the Newmark Theatre, outside through Opera a la Cart, and in the Gregory K. and Mary Chomenko Hinckely Studio Theatre at the Hampton Opera Center, which the company calls home.
The Portland Opera invites you to treat yourself, get fancy with friends, or enjoy a date night! They are excited to kick off the 2023/24 season with The Marriage of Figaro in October, followed by Enchanted Woods: Shakespeare & Song in February 2024, and a family friendly performance, The Snowy Day in March 2024. The 23/24 season concludes with an unforgettable celebration of one of the world’s most beloved composers—with Maestro Damien Geter at the baton for Puccini: In Concert.
