B&B + Regional Arts & Culture Council Calendar – december 2022
Can you believe it’s December already? This year has gone so fast and we are so excited that we had the opportunity to share twelve local Pacific Northwest artists with you throughout the year. A special thank you to our partner, the Regional Arts & Culture Council (RACC) – we couldn’t have done it without you!
We are partnering for 2023 with Artslandia to bring a fresh twist on all the amazing local talent we are lucky to have in the greater Portland area. Sign up early to receive yours!

Title of work: seeing things
Heather Watkins’ work explores the nature and possibilities of the drawn line – materially and symbolically. Working with ink, cord, thread, cloth, and paper, she submits these materials to many cycles of saturation, compression, intertwining, and transference.
The December calendar features her artwork, Seeing Things, a piece that grew out of thoughts about vision—literal and metaphorical. Each work was made by submerging linen in water, wringing it out, and flooding it with a spectrum of blue inks and dyes, always emanating from the center—a meditative embodiment of cycles of saturation and evaporation.
Visit this art locally at the Multnomah County’s Central Courthouse on Floor 17 or up close by viewing here.
You can learn more about Heather in this interview, see more of her artwork on her website, or follow her on Instagram.
Print details: This calendar page is printed on the Xerox Iridess Digital Press. The look was achieved using CMYK toner plus metallic silver for a shimmer and pop. The paper substrate is Neenah Classic Techweave, Solar White.
