WHITE BIRD | B&B Calendar FEBRUARY Featured organization
White Bird has been bringing nationally and internationally recognized dance companies to Portland since 1997. They believe in making dance exciting, educational, equitable, and accessible to everyone while striving to broaden audiences, advocate for the arts, and support dance programs in Portland.
White Bird’s 2nd annual WE ARE ONE Festival runs February 15-March 15 with three dynamic diversity-focused companies: Ronald K.Brown/EVIDENCE, A.I.M by Kyle Abraham, and Ballet Hispánico.
Featured on the February calendar, Ballet Hispanico will perform Doña Perón on March 15, 2023 at 7:30pm at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall. Since 1970, Ballet Hispánico has explored Latino cultures through innovative dance by today’s most outstanding choreographers from Spain and Latin America. One of the most popular companies White Bird has presented, Ballet Hispánico returns with a full-evening work by Colombian-Belgian choreographer Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, who will pay tribute to Eva Perón, better known as Evita, and First Lady of Argentina from 1946 to 1952.
