PSAA Journals: Ladies Up Mural

In 2022 B&B Print Source has once again been a proud partner with Portland Street Art Alliance to bring you four exclusive journals with two unique covers featuring works by Northwest outdoor artists. With creativity at the forefront, half of the notebook was designed with lined sheets to inspire writing, and the other half of the pages are blank for random sketching and doodling.

PSAA Journals Ladies Up Mural

Ladies Up Mural | N.O. Bonzo | FEATURED Artist

Sponsored by Killian Pacific, the three-year Ladies Up mural project in Southeast Portland features a collection of female-identifying artists to raise the profile of a historically underrepresented group of street artists.

The first Ladies Up murals were completed in November 2020 when PSAA teamed up with IPRC, adding twoLadies Up Mural Journals mural panels by Laura Medina and Angela Saenz.

In 2021, a set of diverse artists carried the project through the second year: Tatyana Ostepenko, born and raised in Soviet Ukraine; Salomée, a bilingual designer with Algerian and Peruvian descent born in Switzerland; Amaranta Colindres, born in Santa Ana, El Salvador, and raised in California; Isis Fisher, born and raised in Hawaii; Kyra Watkins originally from Cincinnati, Ohio; and Sunny Beard a tattooist and cancer thriver, originally from Reno, Nevada. From this group, our calendar features Portland street artist and illustrator N.O. Bonzo.

Last Spring, the project was completed by a third team of artists: Stephanie Villatose, a self-taught Latinx artist originally from Miami; Lysee Sardell, a Portland artist and community organizer; Bernadette Little, a PDX-based art director, illustrator, and muralist; and Brenda DePriest, who painted a loving tribute wall.

B&B Print Source in Partnership with PSAA

We created the notebook series to help share the inspirational works and stories of PSAA artists. And we hope to encourage and inspire anyone who receives these notebooks to bring forth their creative visions.

Please use the books for simple note-taking, elaborate sketching, or both. If you create something you’d like to share, post it to our Instagram or Facebook. We’d love to see it. Need some inspiration? Check out some of the fun drawings that we’ve already received on social.
